Some of our longtime fans will remember our newsletter in the 80's called the GENERATION CHRONICLE ! It was a BI-monthly newsletter that was sent through the mail to our fans who were on the mailing list. In those days, postage only cost 21 cents. Well, postage rates keep going up, the service keeps getting worse, and some people never got the newsletter. This way, the news letter doesn't come to you, you can go to it! Anytime you feel like it.

Another reason is it is easier to make corrections online than having to mail out all new fliers after the fact.

But the main reason, and we really had to try hard to convince Generation Guitarist and only original member Mike Bisceglie to go along with this, was that only most competent and able staff would serve as webmasters to this site. There was only one person we could think of who not only is that capable, but also familiar with the trials and tribulations of the band; and that person was none other than original drummer and GENERATION co-founder Chiz Wolfe!! That's right, aside from being Mike's best friend for nearly 20 years, he also is going to be behind the scenes. Don't worry, you don't think the boys aren't going to pull him up for an occasional turn behind the drums on the live shows, do you?

So anyway, THE GENERATION is back. Actually, they never left. But now, they are back even grander and more accessible than before! These twenty years( the last 15 of playing out) have been great. Who could forget the annual band picnics at Mike's parent's house or the GENERATION Christmas card with the picture of Mike and Chiz standing beside the 6 foot x-mas tree they made out of all the empty beer bottles they saved? Or when THE GENERATION made it's debut on WMMR'S Morning Zoo? And when they won Shorebeat Magazine's award for most promising band for 1987? And they're professional debut at the teen dances at Phil's Bongo Room in Avalon? All these were great times.

Of course, there were some tragic times, too. Like when Chiz's grandmother and Mike's father both passed on the exact same day. Or when Henry Anteola, great friend and mentor to the band was killed by a drunk driver exactly two months later. And who could forget when Mike broke his hand in a jet-ski accident in the summer of '87, cutting their second season down the shore short?

Somebody has to remember all this. It is because they do, that these times, both good and bad were made more special. We thank you for a great 15 years, and that is why we offer you this web site, so you can share in memories yet to be made. So on behalf of bassist Derek Jordan, drummer Marty Nolan, and guitarist/keyboardist Mike Bisceglie, welcome to our website!
